Critiques

City of Celebration by =gamesandgigs is by far one of my favourite deviations by Dion Rodrigues. That's why I think this deserves a pretty good critique! Its previous version is Nightlife and Rainbows, and the improvements are amazing!

What is it that makes this so good and unique though?
Is it the fact that it looks so realistic? Well... yes, actually! This is what I think...

Vision:

This is what appealed to me the most; the look of it. The skyline just looks great, and the fact that Dion has added this rainbow of colours has made a very good impact. From other of his skyline and rainbow deviations, this colour combination is very subtle and suited to the image.

Originality:

Unfortunately, this has been done plenty of times, and certainly by =gamesandgigs, yet this one is still different from the rest. The sky is completely different from its previous version, Nightlife and Rainbows, and seems more interesting, but not too busy. And with a smaller skyline than before, it creates more of an effect.

Technique:

The method Dion has used to make this devation so different from not only his own deviations, but others from dA is the mainly the sky. As a whole the skyline actually looks real somehow. The different elements such as the the planet, stars and fireworks have been added so perfectly, there is little evidence of it being stocks!

Impact:

As mentioned before, the sky is the main reason I was so drawn to this deviation. The impact the sky has on the viewer is very great compared to te other skylines, where they are just simple. There is a different atmosphere created by this deviation, and the use of white colours stand out very clearly.

To conclude, I feel that the mixture of experimenting with the sky and the overall outcome of the image of the deviation make this such a great piece of artowork. It also shows improvement from previous works, as the colours have been changed and the artist has experimented with different techniques.

A personal favourite of mine from this artist, and I wish you the best of luck with this deviation!

Awesome, love this one! :D It somehow seems far better than Nightlife and Rainbows....
Could it be that the sky is more interesting, but not too cluttered?
And the colours are excellent and subtle, not too vibrant.
And there's so much white in it, compared to the other one, which really stands out.
This is by far one of my favourite pieces of artwork by you, feel like doing a critique on it! ;)

Colours are beautiful.
But...
I don't like a white spot on the Planet...
Also, as for me, white fireworks are too bright... ^^;
And, although I am not really sure, reflections are not full.

Originality: :star: :star: :star: :star-half: :star-empty:

I have not seen many of such manipulations...

I think, Planet is not looking very good on this picture.
I am also not sure about white fireworks...

Let's celebrate! :D This picture can cheer somebody up.
